AI Entrepreneurial & Networking Event

Date: May 31, 2024

The AI Entrepreneurial & Networking Event was an unforgettable experience that I had the honor of leading. This event brought together over 140 attendees, including tech entrepreneurs, students, and judges from Microsoft, all sharing a passion for AI and tech entrepreneurship. From organizing the project plan, securing funding, coding a website, creating content, and logistics, to leading my team and marketing the event, it was a challenging yet rewarding journey for me. The positive feedback about the event’s content and setup made every late-night effort worthwhile.

I had an incredible opportunity to collaborate with and learn from inspiring professionals. Ehud Halberstam provided invaluable insights from his experience with startups like Chordio and Brand.AI, while Rajamma Krishnamurthy, with her vast experience as a AI startup advisor at Microsoft, introduced me to speakers like Prem Kumar and Vinutha Veluru, enriching the event’s depth. Prem’s expertise in HR Products and leading Humanly (humanly.io) along with Yannis Paniaras’s insights in AI Design made the pitching experience unforgettable for participants. Judges like Carol Li and Ananya Ghosh Chowdhury also offered meaningful feedback, encouraging continued development of ideas presented at the event. It was a true honor to connect with such influential individuals and be part of an inspiring exchange of ideas. Check out the full video below!

Project - Party App (BAM)

Date: Oct 2023 - Feb. 2024

The Party App was a web application designed to transform how college students plan and discover public and private parties in real-time. Featuring a map-based interface, the app allowed users to explore ongoing parties around campus with filters for preferences like party type, interests, alcohol availability, age restrictions, and payment options. While the project didn’t launch, we developed a detailed user interface and database design, which you can view through the Figma prototype and activity diagram.

Additionally, we created a thorough business plan and conducted market research to support the app's potential success (access the doc below).

Leading this project taught me invaluable lessons about teamwork and leadership. I encouraged members to share their honest opinions and ideas despite conflicts, eventually choosing the best ideas to build our project. By encouraging open discussion while gathering iterative feedback from students on campus, we refined the app while fostering a sense of ownership and respect among team members.

Through this experience, I gained leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as problem-solving abilities. Working on the Party App also allowed me to develop diverse skills across business, design, and software engineering, which have been instrumental in shaping my growth as a product leader. Check out our photos and videos below to see more about our journey and the work we accomplished.
